More and more outdoor brands are taking responsibility for limiting their impact on the environments in which their customers use their products. In the past short while, Rab has done this with their insulation. Most recently the Cirrus Jacket and their Upcycled Down Jackets. Deuter no longer uses PFCs in the construction of their backpacks. This leads to a much cleaner production line for their epic hiking bags. The latest brand to take up the reigns is Craghoppers.
Craghoppers is perhaps best known for its travel clothing. The Nosilife range, their famous insect-repellant treated clothing, is a regular best-seller for us during the summer when people are planning extravagant adventures to rainforests all over the world. Their high quality, multifunctional clothing is now #MindfullyMade.
What it means
We are accustomed to hearing brands make promises of environmentally friendly production practices with little to back up these claims. Not Craghoppers. On their website, they have a full-page highlighting what #MidfullyMade actually means. Some of the main points they make are.
1. They guarantee their products for life once the customer registers their product online
2. They are increasing the use of recycled materials in their products. 70% of their clothing is made using recycled materials
3. Much like Deuter Backpacks, all their gear has uses 100% PFC free fabrics.
How to Get involved
For a limited time, we have a 2 for €50 offer on Craghoppers fleece. These adventure clothing staples are constructed from Craghoppers’ amazingly soft recycled fleece fabric that helps trap warmth with impressive efficiency, making it a firm favourite all over the world. And if that wasn’t enough, approximately 14 plastic bottles were recycled to make each fleece. So you can stay warm knowing that you are making a difference.
